ANNE KAUFFMAN most recently directed SLOW GIRL by Gregory Pierce for LCT3, the NY premiere of MAPLE & VINE by Jordan Harrison at Playwrights Horizons, BELLEVILLE by Amy Herzog for Yale Rep and BODY AWARENESS by Annie Baker for the Wilma Theatre in Philadelphia. Other recent credits include YOU BETTER SIT DOWN: TALES FROM MY PARENTS’ DIVORCE at the Williamstown Theater Festival, MAPLE & VINE at the Humana Festival, Adam Bock and Todd Almond’s new musical, WE HAVE ALWAYS LIVED IN THE CASTLE, based on the novel by Shirley Jackson at Yale Rep, SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION at Williamstown, BECKY SHAW at The Wilma Theater in Philadelphia (2010 Barrymore Awards for Best Overall Production and Best Director), and THIS WIDE NIGHT by Chloe Moss with Edie Falco and Alison Pill for Naked Angels (Lucille Lortel Nomination for Best Direction of a Play). Upcoming productions include the NY premieres of DETROIT, the 2011 Pulitzer Prize finalist by Lisa D’Amour at Playwrights Horizons, BELLEVILLE at the New York Theater Workshop, written by Amy Herzog, SMOKEFALL by Noah Haidle, and SOMEWHERE FUN by Jenny Schwartz. Anne is a recipient of the Lincoln Center Theater’s Joan and John Cullum Award For Exceptional Creativity, the Lilly Award in Direction and the Alan Schneider Director Award. Her production of THE FLEA AND THE PROFESSOR at the Arden Theater in Philadelphia recently garnered 12 Barrymore Nominations including Best Direction of a Musical and won the award for Best Overall Production of a Musical. She received
an OBIE Award for Best Direction for her work on THE THUGS by Adam Bock at Soho Rep. Anne was also on the directing faculty at NYU.
